ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy C276 Tube contains nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with niobium which makes it high strength without a strengthening heat treatment, In conditions, where the corrosion and heat resistance of steels and other metals are exhausted, high performance alloys including ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy C276 Tube become the designer’s material of choice. The alloy C276 Tube is also comparatively insensitive to velocity effects and is widely used for critical components such as bubble caps or valves in contact with flowing acid. Hastelloy C276 Pipe retains its excellent ductility and toughness at low temperature.

For example: The actual outside diameter of 1¼” tube is 1.25″
The actual physical OD of a Hastelloy C276 tube is just the same as it’s nominal OD. Hastelloy C276 Tubes are generally used in applications that require smaller diameters. Its hardness, tensile strength, high precision is the key to high quality. Hastelloy C276 Tubes can be joined quickly and easily with flaring, brazing or couplings

Hastelloy C276 MACHINABILITY
Good machinability, although the alloy work hardens as is true of the nickel base alloys in general.
Hastelloy C276 FORMING
Can be cold worked by all conventional methods.
Hastelloy C276 WELDING
Weldable by all common methods except that excessive heat input should be avoided. Can be used in the “as-welded” condition without further heat treatment for most corrosive applications.
Hastelloy C276 HEAT TREATMENT
Solution heat treatment is done at 2050 F followed by a rapid quench. The alloy is supplied in this condition. If hot forming or forging is done then the parts should be solution heat treated, if possible, before use.
Hastelloy C276 FORGING
The alloy can be forged or hot-upset by conventional means.
Hastelloy C276 HOT WORKING
Can be hot formed or extruded. Should be solution heat treated following hot forming.
Hastelloy C276 COLD WORKING
Readily cold worked by conventional methods.

Normally supplied and use in the solution treated condition, a 2050 F soak followed by rapid quench.
